Here we will be discussing the Best Neighborhoods in the Dallas Metroplex for young families, these are in no particular order, as we believe choosing any of these neighborhoods will be exactly what young parents are looking for. Parents Raising children look for a few things when it comes to the neighborhood they live in:

#1 Prestonwood

Prestonwood is a neighborhood in north Dallas and runs up through Preston rd through Addison into Plano. Prestonwood has been known as a resort-style community that includes a country club, multiple schools such as Prestonwood Elementary and Prestonwood Christian Academy, and a bunch of fun places to go to socialize and meet other young adults that also have kids for your kids to befriend! With Prestonwood being in a very safe and quiet area, crime is almost non-existent giving you peace-of-mind as a parent. With Southern Methodist University just a few minutes away in Highland Parks sibling neighborhood University Park, you don’t have to travel very far to attend one of the nations best universities! That only leaves socializing and entertainment to check off the list for young families moving to Dallas, and there is no scarcity of that in Highland Park. Whether its going to watch the SMU sports teams play, or going out to eat and have some drinks with friends, Highland park has plenty to offer when it comes to great food options such as Petrizios for delicious italian food, or Cafe Pacific which has amazing fresh seafood. Highland Park is the nextdoor neighborhood to uptown and downtown Dallas, which means there is no shortage of fun for those looking to grab a couple drinks and meet other young adults, but even if that isn’t your forte, Highland Park has multiple sites of entertainment suited for the whole family such as Highland Park Village which has something to offer everyone from every walk of life, which is why moving to a neighborhood like this is great for whatever you enjoy doing!

#4 Lakewood

Lakewood is an east Dallas neighborhood that borders White Rock Lake, this is a perfect neighborhood for young adults wanting to raise their kids playing outside and on the water. The neighborhood of Lakewood has resort style theme where each home is within walking distance of the lake, Lakewood also includes a historic country club which has multiple golf courses, parks and pools for your family to enjoy. The beauty of nature is present all throughout Lakewood with its tree-canopied roads, frequent trails and parks, and of course the ability to walk,jog, or bike along the 1,200 acre lake. The schools are top tier as well, with multiple public and private schools to choose from you can give your kids the education and childhood experience they deserve. The family-friendly community is very tight-knit in Lakewood, if you move to this neighborhood you will have no trouble meeting other adults and their kids, giving you all the socializing you could ask for!
